  1. My father composed this with other boys when going to school in Kilkeedy. Bidneen Hehir lived in Kilkeedy. Co Clare.
A month ago or may be more,
    I now forget the day,
Mike Quinn was sent for to take the sow's life away.
    In addition to the Butcher.
Sure we had a couple more.
'Mikie Carr and Paddy Mack, that ploughman great of yore,
We had Paud O'Brien and Nappy Glynn
    Not forgetting poor Bidneen.
    And as I am aware.
We had the pick of all Colleen.
    2.
Mike Quinn he took the hammer.
    A dirty job to do.
    Number one was badly missed,
    And so was number two,
At number three, he struck her knee,
    And number four, the floor.
