  1. The people had big colouring pots and they put clean water down to boil and they put farnog branches which were got on the elder bush in the bottom of the pot in order not to let the clothes stick. They boiled the clothes for 24 hrs and kept sitrring them. The matter was got down in Springlawn for colouring which was called zinc. They boiled it into the clothes and kept sitting them. Then they took them up and brought them to the river and washed them and left them out to dry.
