- The dress of our fore fathers was altogether (much) different to what is worn now - a - days. They believed in bulk, and weight. The men wore white flannel coats called Baíniní and white corduroy trousers. They made their own clothes. When the sheep were shorn, the wool was bleached, then carded, and made into thread by spinning. Spinning - wheels were very plentiful in those days. Frieze coats were also worn. This frieze was made in a mill . Then men and women wore clogs. The little boys wore petticoats, until they were fourteen years of age. The old women, wore red flannel petticoats and home knit thick stockings. To mass they used to wear, hand made shawls and white frilly caps, which looked very nice and clean.The upper - class, wore high(continues on next page)
