On the day of the funeral three men always went to make the grave, and they always took some whiskey with them. When they returned after making the grave the coffin was left on end outside the door, and they cried the deceased once more. They always got tea and whiskey. Before pulling the corpse in the coffin, all the near relatives stood around, and again cried after the deceased person. All those present then were treated to whiskey. The coffin was then carried out by four whose surnames were the same. It was then mounted on a horse cart and three female relatives were seated on the coffin and facing in different directions. When the funeral was that of a young man, twenty four young men (dressed in white) with white sashes carried the coffin on turns from the residence to the grave-yard.
