    Fish was eaten very often and also vegetables.
    Bloscáns and boxty were eaten long ago and are now gone out of fashion.
    Sometimes the people ate late at night. Certain foods were not eaten on certain occasions.
    Fowl was eaten on St. Martin's, caul cannon and apples on Novembers night, and eggs on Easter Sunday.
    About eighty years ago tea was first used. Noggins were used before cups became common.
