of two tiny rooms and a kitchen. Its roof was thatched with rushes, and the chimney, was what the people called, "A Pudding Chimney".
This sort of chimney was made by digging a heap of [Do buide?] and mixing it with water. Then hay was got, and chopped up through this mortar. A hole was left on the roof of the house and on the top of this hole was placed an old bucket. Then the [Do buide?] was plastred round the bucket and in a few days time, it was set and the bucket was taken down.
There was a small window in each room to let in light. The walls of the house are still to be seen covered over with ivy. The Dog Rose still grows and blooms in the little garden. Máirgéad Donohoue lived here until she reached the age of one hundred and two years.
