- Houses were numerous in my district in former years, and the ruins of many of them are still to be seen.In the bog near where I live, there is the remains of an old house, which was occupied by an old woman, named Máirgéád Donohue. Its walls were built of stone and plastered with what was then called "Dó-buidhe." The floor was made of Dó-buidhe also. This material was a kind of tough, wet, clay for which the people dug down very far in the earth.This little house consisted(continues on next page)
