    peeled. A piece of tin was got and holes bored in it. This tin was rubbed up and down along the potato until it was minced up. This minced potato was put into a clean cloth and the juice squeezed out of it. Then the pulp was mixed with flour and baked in a pan.
    A cross is always put on top of the cake to prevent the crust from falling off the cake. Bread was often baked on a griddle. Griddle bread is considered very wholesome.
