    We put a bed of straw under them. We milk then into a can and when we are finished we put the sign of the cross on their hips with the froth of the milk.
    We keep two horses and we have their stable next to the cowhouse. We also have a manager in their stable and we fill it with hay every night and morning. We also give them oats. We call one of them Fanny and the other Charley. We get them shod at the forge a few times in the year. We clip Charley with a horse-clippers but we never clip Fanny.
    We keep two goats on the farm. It is said that they eat up a poisonous herb which gives a disease called "Black Leg" to cattle.
    We keep four pigs every year. It is said that if pigs are lucky with you it is a sign that all your stock will be lucky with you. We keep twenty ewes. We keep their lambs until they are a year old.
