  1. Long ago the Blessed Virgin wanted a ring she went to a tinker to make one for her. The tinker told her he hadn't as much material that would make a ring. She then cursed the tinker and from that day the tinkers never had any luck. Then she went to a blacksmith and it happened he hadn't any material but told her if she liked he would cut a bit off his tongs. She said it would do. She thanked him. Since then there is one of the hands of the blacksmiths longer than the other.
