  1. Saint Stephen’s Day
On Saint Stephen’s Day young boys go around from house to house with the wren. There is great fun on St Stephen’s Day with the wren boys, and young boys dress themselves up in different colour. One of them has a musical instrument and plays along the road. They are called mummers. Everyone goes to mass on that day although it is not a holiday of obligation people don’t work. Not very many years ago it was kept as a strict holiday of obligation.
