  1. During the winter of 1918 and the spring of 1919 there was serious epidemic of flu.
People were found dead at their work. One woman in this district was found dead in her chair and a tea-cup in her hand.
It was so contagious that the people would not go to the funeral or lay the corps out. There was never a wake for the person after he had died was immediately buried.
It was known as the "Flu of 1918-19" and its history lived for ever.
