  1. At the time of the famine two old sisters lived together in a house in Chequer Hill called "Scarries". They got the fever and they were dying. They longed for a piece of meat as they thought that it would cure them of their illness.
    No sooner had they wished for it than a beautiful bird beyond compare flew into the room. They took it and killed it, and ate it and immediately they were cured of their illness.
