  1. There was a man and his wife living not far from here. They had a dog which they had not paid. The man's wife saw the guard coming over the road. She got a shawl and rapped the dog in it. She put it on her back like a baby.
    The guard came in and said "have you a dog." "No" said the man's wife. The dog stirred on her back and she said. "Ellen Ellen keep quiet your a good girl" The dog's tail was hanging down. "I think Ellen has a tail" said the guard. He caught the dog by the tail and pulled him down.
