  1. There are a lot of customes in connection with churning and still some of our country people believe in them. It is said if a person comes into the house when you are churning they should take the handle and churn for a while. If they do not it is said that the woman will not be able to make the churn.
    Some people put a coal under the churn before they start. If they do not it is said the fairies will steal the butter. There was an old woman in Killooney by the name of Kitty
