    There was not many old schools in the district long ago . . .

    no seats in it. Not many people are living now that were going to that school. Jim Quirke and Michael Gorman were going to that school.
    Mr. John Mahoney was the teacher's name. The school children would have to bring a penny everyday and two sods of turf that was the pay the teacher was getting.
    He had a small garden of potatoes out side the school. The school boys would have to sow that garden, and to weed it. He had a pig also, and the boys would have to dig the potatoes and to wash them for the pig.
