“The patron saint of the district is St. Colman . . .”
The patron of the district of Kilchreest is St. Colman. He was the son of King Duagh, and was born in Kilmacduagh near Gord.
St. Colman was a very holy man and blessed many wells. He lived in a cave in the Burren mountain doing penance.

“Saint Colman is the patron saint of this district . . .”
Saint Colman is the patron saint of this district, his well is in Killaspic, and his seven churches are in Killmacdugh. There is also a well there and when Saint Colman was born his mother had to fly from his father's anger and when his mother wanted his him to be baptised, she saw two moks approaching.(continues on next page)
