    During the Rising of '98 General Sarsfield in retreating from Limerick passed by Kiltulla and rested under a big tree at the entrance of Kiltulla Grave-yard Here, he and his troops rested and ate there fragal meal.
    Ever since that, the tree is known as '"The General Tree".
