    horse are supposed to have been buried , both being thrown and killed on a large rock which is on the opposite side of, and built into the wall of the road. The place is supposed to be haunted.

    A narrow inlet of the sea in Oranmore Bay, which can be crossed at low tide by stepping stones. A priest was crossing one day in a hurry when he slipped and fell, and cursed the rocks.
    Hence its name.
