  1. There is a rock up in Shantalla and it is called Ó Connell's Rock.
    That rock is very big and it is said that Daniel Ó Connell gave a speech on Catholic Emancipation.
    The little place where Daniel Ó Connell gave the speech is situated in a village out side the Town of Galway.
    In another old place in Galway they say there were a very big band of soldiers and one night this drummer was walking in a field and there were a lot of wells running under the Grattan Road out to Galway Bay.
