Oranmore Jack is a nickname he got. He was born in Oranmore and that is why he is called that name. He sometimes drives cattle and all stock for the jobbers and cattle-dealers.

An old man named Joyce calls to our house very regularly. He sleeps in an old van. He makes cans, saucepans and small tables. My mother has great welcome for this old man. She makes a cup of tea for him, and gives him some bread. She also buys saucepans, and cans from him.
There is another man that calls to our house who buys cases of watches and gold rings. He gives two shillings for each ring, and three or four shillings for each watch case. This man calls to our house once every year. He travels on a bicycle.
