    There was once a woman by the name of Mrs. Murray drowned in the basin of the Canal about twelve years ago. She was coming out from a house at about eleven o'clock in the night and there was a lamp at the canal at that time. And the light shone on the water and she thought the water was the road and she stepped into the water and was drowned.
