  1. In olden times bread used to be made from flour and oatmeal. Oatmeal was mostly used. The oatmeal was mixed with water and baking-soda and baked in a griddle or gridiorn. This was used almost for every meal. Later on the peopl sowed wheat. The wheat used to be cut by hand with a reaping hook. It was tied in small bundles and threshed with a stick or flail. They used dry it them in a pot and grind it with a quern worked by the hand. Some of those querns are still to be seen. Sometimes they used have oatmeal potato cake. Potatoes and
