  1. The Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph were traveling one day and it was very rough. The Blessed Virgin's shawl was blowing off and she asked a tinker to make a pin for her, but he refused. She went on until she came to a forge and she asked the smith to make a pin for her and he did. It is said that ever since the black-smiths are lucky and the tinkers are unlucky.
