    called flannenette. All kinds of linen were made from flax in this district some years ago and they are still to be found in some houses. Nearly all socks, jumpers etc. are knitted locally. The tread is spun in some houses where ever there is a spinning wheel. The friends of people that are dead wear black clothes for the funeral. White or blue is worn for a wedding.

  2. There is one tailor in our district. His name is Thomas Sherden. He does not stock the cloth. The cloth is usually woven but flannel is spun and woven.
