  1. Long ago the people were fourteen and fifteen years of age before they would wear boots. Some of the people in olden times used never wear boots. Some of the country children wear no boots in Summer time. When the feet are washed the water is thrown out. There are bootmakers and bootrepairers in this district. There are two bootmakers in this district now and there was only one long ago. Clogs were always worn a while ago but the people used not make them themselves. They are not worn by anyone in this district now. The leather was never made in
