St Michael's Day falls on the 29th of September. St Michael is the Patron Saint of Cappatagle and Ballinasloe and of many other parishes in Ireland. He was a great Saint and is honoured because he fought the bad angles. There is a statue of St Michael erected in Cappatagle. There is a goose killed usually for St Michael's Day. There is High Mass offered in many parishes for St Michael.
