  1. We sow about half an acre of potatoes every year. We usually sow them in ridges with a spade because we have no plough. There are no wooden ploughs left now. The spades are bought in shops. The people help each other in this locality. WHen the potatoes are growing there is a wash put on them called spray. When they are dug they are put in big pits. The ones that grow best are the Arron Banner. There are a lot of varieties of potatoes but the ones i know best are Stripe Champion, Kerr's Pink, Arron Victor, Up to date, and Garden Philler.
