Wooden ploughs were used one time but they are not used now. We buy the spade in the shop. The women cut the slits and they leave eyes in each slit. Sometimes the women help each other slitting. The men spread the manure, then the slits, and then they cover them with clay. The men usually dig the potatoes and the women and children pick them. The best kind of potatoes in my locality are; Kerr's Pink, Epicure, Arron Banner.
