  1. There is a place in Tuam called Deerpark on the Ballymote Rd two miles from Tuam. It is divided and given to the farmers around Aghlogh. Near it there is a place called the Socker field. Long ago this game was played there. Long ago the Deer used to run from Deerpark back to Birmingham.
    Its a very hilly place and there are mighty high walls. The Grawans races used to run through Deerpark.
