    He fell from a horse and broke his neck. He is dead 300 years. That is why it is called Mountbrown. The fox uses it as a den.

  2. There lived in Athenry a landlord named Colonel Nolan. He had a lot of tillage fields. He had one large field of turnips near the mansion. The famine was in Ireland at the time. The people used to steal the turnips each night for food. Nolan became angry for the people would not stop stealing the turnips.
    Nolan put candles in the turnips to frighten the people. The people were wiser to his games. He then put his two bailiffs to guard the turnips. The people caught the bailiffs and beat them. Nolan had to submit and let the people have the turnips.
