- Rathanna agus Liosanna
There is a lios in Mr Kirwans land called "lios na brìone". It is the fort of battles and it is said that battles were fought in it long ago.
There is also one in Burkes land. A large number of bones were found in it when it was dug, also a bronze buckle which is now in the possession of Mr. Burke.
It is said that if crops of any kind sown over a lios they could not be boiled. There were three giants, two boys and a girl found on Mr. O Dea's land and can now be seen in the museum in Dublin, also a bronze razer.
In the days of old there were no churches so that the priests had to say Mass in "Clashes".(continues on next page)- Collector
