  1. About two miles from Tuam there is a round tower in Kilbannon. It was erected by Saint Patrick. It was used by the monks long ago to hide their books when the Danes came to Ireland. Saint Patrick blessed the place. There is a heap of stones in Lowry's field and there is a hollow in the centre of the heap. That hollow is supposed to be Saint Patrick's bed. The place where he knelt is also shown because no grass grew on the two round spots where he put his knees. A tree grows over the Leacht. there is a statue of Saint Patrick near the place now.
