  1. Once upon a time there was a butcher in Tuam and his name was Matt Ryan. He told his wife at night to call him in the morning in time to go to the fair of Shrule. She did not feel to call him for the fair until it was too late and he had to go to the fair without his breakfast. he was in a great hurry, when he was passing the Hill of Castlehacket he met a tall man who spoke to him and said my man you seem to be in a great hurry Matt answered him and said my wife forgot to call me in the morning to go to the fair. The man said to him you are time enough come in here and I will get you your breakfast he brought him through the Hill until they reached a room with servants in it. This man ordered the servants to get this man his breakfast. Matt was told to sit down to eat his breakfast when he
