    kept a brown cloth in his house this was called [brar scapall] or scaplar covering. If the dead person was enrolled in the scapular, this covering was placed over the coffin. In many local yards you will notice pecular epitaphs, for example in a graveyard near Dunmore the following is on the grave of aa man who committed accidental murder.
    “Here lies the man, God rest his soul, he was very fond of killing fowl, in taking his aim he made a mistake, instead of a duck he killed a draker.”
