  1. The round tower of Kilbannon
    It stands there alone
    It was built by some tribe
    without any cut stone.

    It withstood all storms
    of centuary gone by
    and they built it right plum
    a hundred feet high.

    (3)
    Traditions tells us there was
    a bell on the top
    but Cromwell's wicket
    soldiers shot it down in a flop.

    (4)
    There are workmen now
    repairing the ravages
    made: by bad weather and
    storms of many decade

    But the great old Clauthogh
    will stand there awhile
    until the pyramids of Egypt
