  1. Old Trades
Candles: were made from the "tallow" of cattle and sheep, soap from the same thing.
Whips: were made from horses skin. They used to bury the skin in the clay and put lime over it. It is left there for a certain length of time. It is taken up then and cut with tongs.
Dyes: were made from elder trees. They boil the bark of the trees and the juice makes the dye.
Lime: was made like it is made at the present time.
Baskets: were made from sally switches. They stick the switches into the ground, and they weave switches in and out between them and there we have the baskets.
Cures - Michael Delaney in Imane-More could cure a head-ache and shellyken by measuring the head around about and then he'd pull a rib from the head.
Other cures - Toff Donnelan could cure "Claithuin" by putting a glass on the chest.
