  1. There lives in the woods of Pollnahalia, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway a small animal like a young pig called the badger. It is a very wicked little animal and it would attack you without much cause. It is impossible to shoot without leaving the barrel of he gun on its skin for it is very tough. It eats roots of young ash trees and it lives under the bushes.
    Its bite is poisonous.
