There is a big hill situated about a mile from my house which is in the parish of Caherlistrane, Co. Galway called Knock Magh. There are many stories connected with it and this is one of them.
On the 8th July 1936, a man named Joseph Hode, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway was cutting timber on the side of this hill. As he was passing by the ruins of an old church he saw a man standing by the wall. Hode asked a match of him but he did not anwser him. Then Hode walked into a cloud of smoke.
