  1. Streams and pools.
There is a small deep pool situated in the village of Clare-Tuam, Co. Galway.
In the year 1263 the people around the place said that they saw a fairy maiden coming there for water each morning at half-past nine.
The ruler of that place was not married so he wished to marry her. He rose very early and went to the pool. She was there and had a talk with him. They were married the following day.
They had a very happy life for some years but alas a quarell arose between them. She was able to work magic so she burned their house and turned her husband into a seagull.
