  1. There is a cave in a field belonging to John Morris, Caltra, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway. Priests used to hide there during the Penal times. Every priest who hid there was caught and killed.
    Masses used to be said down in it. The cave was afterwards called "Poll-an-Aifrinn"
    There is a large flat stone in a field belonging to John Higgins, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway. It is said that a priest named Rev. John Kelly used to read Mass on it.
    This stone is ever since called "Cloch an Aifrinn."
