  1. There was an awful rainfall on the 1st May '32. It continued raining from eight o'clock that morning until nine o'clock that night.
    When it stopped raining there was a foot of water in every hollow in the road. THe water was to be seen running down the sides of the hills. Two families had to leave their houses in the village of Cave, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway. They were, John Flannaghan and John Monoghan.
