  1. There was a rich woman long ago and she had two sons. The eldest son got married to a a herd's daughter and his mother threw him out. She gave him two acres of land to live on, but she had plenty of land left for her other son who was married in the house. The poor brother had a large family and he had nothing to eat for them. He had only one cow and he went to the fair to sell her. On his way he met two constables after having a man arrested. He asked the police what did the man do out of the way and they told him that he was a robber, and that he was going to be transported. He told them that he would give them the cow, but to let them with himself, and they agreed, so they brought the cow with them, and he brought the man with himself.
    When he came home his wife asked him if he sold the cow, as she wanted the money to buy food for the children. He told her that he gave
