Shawn Boy was his jockey. When the horse died the skull was preserved. The Major was poor at the time and a race was to be run at the Curragh. Shawn Boy was ill and another jockey had to be got. Horse was tricky and difficult to ride so there were small hopes of success.

Friar Park is the name of a field on the hill.When the horse used to hear bell ringing in Castlehackett house he used round the field.The Tyrone branch of the French family now known as St George.
