  1. Bread.
    Long ago they used to leave the wheat near the fire for a fortnight or three weeks and they used to turn it every day and then they used to grind about a bag with two round stones with a handle on the top of one and those that came to visit used to spend a while at it.
    They used to mix flour and new milk together and turn it into a pan and they called that a steammy cake.
    The slap Jack is another cake. It is baked like the pan cake
    Long ago the old people used to make a griddle cake for the family
    And when they used put down the dinner the old people used put down 'arán coirce' cake on top of the cabbage to boil because they had no teeth to eat the griddle cake
    Long before the grid iron came out they swept the earthen hearth
