    Piper and danced on the luck also. It was all sport and enjoyment when the showboys came.
    No white rose was allowed at the wedding or an even number was not allowed. Old shoes were thrown after the bride when she was leaving the house to get married. If she met a woman first it was unlucky.

    There was a young man once who was so much in love . . .

    There was once a young man once who was so much in love that he sickened very much and had to take to bed. His friends did not know what ailed him and sent for priest.
    When he came the sick man said "Ní sagart na bráthair atá uaim ach Bidín na Cartha."
