  1. One night in the month of November a long time ago a man went out fowling and he killed a lot of wild fowl. It was the dead hour of night when he was coming home and he met a Pukey who said to the man:
    "You have a pipe"
"I have," said the man and he was very much frightened
"You ought to give me a few "faugs" said the Pukey.
The Pukey stood out from the man and opened his mouth. The man put a shot in the gun and fired out the shot into the Pukey's mouth.
The Pukey asked for another "Faug" and the man gave him another shot. Then the Pukey said
    "That is very strong tobacco"
Then the man got a beads in his pocket and put into the gun, fired the shot, and killed the Pukey.
The man went home and when he got up in the morning he could only see a blue scum where he killed the Pukey.
A Pukey has a head like a horse and a body like a man.
