    Má tá capall agus duine tinn san am ceádna, agus má eirigheans ceann aca as an tinneas go bhfáigheann an ceann eile bás.
    Nach ceart obair a thosú lá na leanbh:-
    pe ar bith lá na dtuiteann la na Leanbh ní cuirtear ruid ar bith sa talamh an lá sin seachtmhain ar bith na bliana.
    Gur ceart cúpla fatai a bhaint an tráthnóna roimh an lá na mbaintear iad le h-agai[dh] síl.
    Chualas iad seo thuas ó na macaibh leighinn sa Sgoil.

    Whenever an unusual light was seen late at night a premature death or some trouble was expected. If a dog barked and cried in the barking it was said and believed that a death would follow in the family very soon.
    Wild cats seen on tops of the walls screeching and crying were said to attack horseman coming home late at night. If he hadn't a fast horse the cats would be apt to jump on his neck. At a funeral when the corpse was
