  1. One time there lived three brothers and their mother in the same house. They threshed one stack of wheat. They sent their eldest brother, whose name was Donal to Galway with the cart of wheat to sell it. When Donal was coming home he went into Hynes’ public-house for a pint of porter. There were men playing cards there and they asked Donal would he come playing? He said he would and so he did. He spent the price of the cart of wheat card-playing. Home he went without the money and his brothers were very angry with him. They threshed the next
