  1. Poor people call to our house from time to time, but not the same people each time.
    One woman called Bina Murphy calls on us pretty often. She was born in Laragh, a little village about five miles from Athenry. She used to live in her brother's house but he put her out on the road. She never carries or sells any goods. She gets money and food from the people who know her.
    Another woman named Maggie Flaherty makes a living by telling fortunes. She does this with cards and tea-leaves. She carries alot of bags.
    A man known as "Donegal" also goes around begging. He never carries any bags. Other people who pass the way are Stephen Raney and his wife and Paddy Reilly.
    Other people known as "tinkers" go around the country in caravans which they make themselves. Some of these people carry baskets and they sell little articles such as boot laces, blessed
